The past year featured many serious breaking news stories, led by the false alarm active shooter situation at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

We saw spectacular crashes and saw our area top a very unfortunate list.

Officials: No 'real world' active shooter incident at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base: On Aug. 2, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base was placed on lockdown for a reported active shooter. Security forces clearing the building discharged a weapon. At the same time of the reported active shooter, an active shooter training scenario was taking place on base. Our reporters are still waiting on the final report from WPAFB.

Man in King's Island arrest had 4,000 rounds of ammo:  A 37-year-old Texas trucker accused of trying to snatch a child at Kings Island had three guns and 4,000 rounds of ammunition in his truck in July.
