Candlelight service at Kettering church honors pregnancy, infant loss

A candlelight service Monday night was held in honor of National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day.

The service was held at Central Christian Church, 1200 Forrer Blvd., Kettering.

The church began hosting a service after one of its members experienced the loss of twin boys.

“Initially, the service was attended by women who had experienced miscarriage or pre-term births. Now it is attended by moms, dads, grandparents, siblings and friends needing a way to acknowledge their pain from losing a child or to learn how to be helpful to others,” Melissa Moody said. “Our service provides a place to grieve, remember, heal and support those who have suffered the loss of a child.”
