Caught on camera: Cat hangs onto van at 60 MPH in Nebraska

One Nebraska family believes their “curiosity saved the cat” after a viral video shows a cat holding onto the roof of van going 60 miles per hour.

Rhonda Rankin and her family captured the bizarre scene on a Nebraska interstate and immediately notified the occupants inside the van, according to KETV.

“I said, ‘There's a cat on your roof,’ and I keep saying, 'A cat on your roof.’ Then, she looks at me and she's like, ‘Oh my God.’ She looks startled, and so immediately, they slow down”, said Rankin.

The Nebraska Humane Society said their staff had never seen anything like it and of course, like Rankin, had many questions including what happened to the cat once the van pulled over.

“What happened? Is it their cat? Did it jump off? Were they able to get it?” asked Rankin.

Although it may look like a wildcat, NHS says it is likely somebody’s pet.

The cat is gray and white and believed to be an adult.
