Census: How much did Greene County grow last year?

Greene County grew by 1,643 people from July 1, 2016 to July 1, 2017, according to newly released U.S. Census Bureau population estimates.

The population increased from 165,109 people to 166,752 for a growth of 1 percent.

Since the 2010 census, Greene County has grown by 3.2 percent.

The county saw improvement in population loses due to domestic out-migration in the past year as well.

In recent years Greene County has lost more than 1,000 residents per year to out-migration, but from 2016 to 2017 the county gained 763 residents from other parts of Ohio or other states.
