Counterfeit cash, production equipment seized in Sidney raid

Three people were arrested after police found counterfeit money and equipment used to produce the fake cash during a search warrant Friday.

Kendra Chamberlin, 23; Jesse White, 30; and Tisha Hecht, 30, were all arrested at the house in the 300 block of Franklin Avenue, police said.

Chamberlin and White were each booked on forgery charges.  Hecht was booked on a drug charge.

Police seized $750 in counterfeit bills and also found other items.

“Among those items were printers, scanners, and a cutting board and other counterfeiting tools. The illegal narcotic Fentanyl and production equipment associated with the cooking of Meth were also located and seized from the residence,” police said in a prepared statement.

Other charge against the suspect could be forthcoming, Sidney investigators said.

“Over the last few months several complaints have been investigated from various businesses in the City in regards to counterfeit money appearing in deposits,” police said.  “This recent arrest incident is likely to be a source of some of the money that has been appearing throughout the city but other yet to be identified sources are also contributing to the recent influx of counterfeit money.”

Anyone with any information of other people who may be producing fake money can contact Sidney police at 937-489-2351 or Crime Stoppers at 937-492-8477.
