Man shot after attempting to meet woman from popular dating site

UPDATE 5/22/18 @ 2 a.m: A man was shot near a Dayton gas station Monday morning while attempting to meet up with a woman he met on a popular dating site.

Dalton Chambers, 23, of West Carrollton showed up to Miami Valley Hospital with a gunshot wound to the arm after he believes a woman that he met on the dating site ‘Plenty of Fish’ set him up to be robbed, according to a police report.

While Chambers was walking to meet the woman at a residence near E. Third Street, he was approached by a black male wearing a gray pull-over and blue jeans that displayed a handgun and demanded he hand over everything he had. After Chambers pushed the suspect and ran back towards his vehicle, the robber fired two rounds with one striking Chambers, the report stated.

He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The incident remains under investigation.

Crews are responding to Miami Valley Hospital after a person reportedly showed up with a gunshot wound early Monday morning.

Initial reports indicate the individual was reportedly shot near a Shell gas station in the 3400 block of E. Third St.
