Fire destroys motorcycle, wood, woodworking shop in Greenville Twp. barn

UPDATE @ 10:55 p.m.: A new Harley-Davidson motorcycle, woodworking equipment, a large trailer and a stack of cabinet-grade wood was destroyed in the barn fire on Wood Avenue in Greenville Twp. on Wednesday night, the Greenville fire chief said.

Some equipment was deposited in the barn earlier Wednesday, the chief said, noting it was too early to estimate the dollar loss in damage to the structure and its contents.

No one was home and no firefighters were injured in putting out the blaze in the structure just east of the residence.

Four propane tanks in the barn exploded in the fire, the chief said, but that did not result in any injuries.

The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation, he said.

INITIAL REPORT

Fire crews are on the scene of a fully engulfed barn fire in the 5900 block of Wood Avenue in Greenville Twp., where there are as many as four propane tanks either inside or outside near the structure.
