The Dayton VA opens its renovated surgical wing today.
The area on the third floor of the medical center now has private rooms and individual restrooms so patients no longer have to share.
Rooms also have motion-sensor faucets to limit the spread of infection and pull-out sofas for visitors, according to a news release. The VA says the new design also spreads out nursing stations to cut down on noise.
A ribbon cutting happens at 11 a.m. and is open to the public.
Patients will move in tomorrow.
