Dayton Skywarn: Local storm spotters helping keep you safe

This is the time of year when we need to start thinking about severe weather and how to prepare. It’s also the time of year Dayton Skywarn activates its network of volunteer Ham radio operators across the Miami Valley to help the National Weather Service keep eyes on the skies with the goal of keeping us all informed during severe weather season.

In preparation to severe weather season, Meteorologist McCall Vrydaghs and Meteorologist Kirstie Zontini sat down with Dayton Skywarn Coordinator Don Parker to discuss the importance of Skywarn. During their interview with Don they discussed Skywarn’s partnership with the National Weather Service and how they work to keep the community safe.
