Dublin Pub launches new menu, planning two great events this week

Not only did the Dublin Pub recently roll out a new seasonal menu last week, it has plenty of great events coming up this week to enjoy.

Their annual Greek tasting will take place from 6-9 p.m. Sept. 25 featuring pairings of scotch from the Glenrothes Distillery, dishes from the imagination of Chef Melissa Deaton, and cigars brought by George Karras.

The first course is an array of Greek appetizers, including red pepper and garlic hummus, babaganoush, grilled pitas, assorted olives, roasted tomatoes, marinated feta and dried fruits.

The second course planned is a traditional Moussaka (a dish of eggplant, potato and ground lamb), alongside fresh spanakopita and dolmas. The third course is a Greek Gyro featuring slices of spit-roasted Lamb or braised chicken thighs, dressed with housemade Tzatziki, onion, roasted tomatoes and marinated feta. The evening will be capped off with a Baklava cinnamon ice cream sundae topped with assorted, chopped nuts, honey syrup and crispy phyllo dough.

Two days later on Sept. 27 We Care Arts will be hosting an Irish at HeArt! event from 5:30-8:30 p.m. featuring heavy appetizers, drink specials, and entertainment provided by Dayton's favorite group of Irishmen, Dulahan. They'll also be welcoming the Dwyer School of Irish Dance as their special guests, with all proceeds benefiting We Care Arts. Tickets are $20 each and can be purchased at https://wecarearts.networkforgood.com/events/8196-irish-at-heart.

New seasonal food menu items they have rolled out include: Red Curry Mussels, a new sandwich called the Carvery featuring smoked beef brisket, housemade corn beef and shaved prime rib, with swiss cheese, tomato, bacon with half and half onion straws served on a focaccia sourdough grinder.
