Early voting lines long but expected in Dayton

Early voting lines extended through the parking garage of the Montgomery County Building in Dayton Sunday.

Early voting began at 1 p.m. and goes until 5 p.m.

The lines have been long but are moving smoothly, said Director of Board of Elections Jan Kelly.

“It’s really busy. We always have busy Sunday voting,” Kelly said.

Churches often bring groups of people by bus which contributes to the turnout but they were ready for the long lines, said Kelly.

The longest wait has been only about 15 minutes since there are 35 members on staff helping, Kelly said.

Anyone in line Sunday before 5 p.m. will get to vote, said Kelly.
