Those grieving Tarver’s passing also gathered Thursday night for a candlelight vigil at East Second and Columbus streets.

Tre’Ana was a Xenia High School graduate and student at Central State University, where she was studying chemistry.

Police said on the night of Nov. 3, Tarver was found suffering from a stab wound in the backyard of a home in the 200 block of East Church Street.

Officers were responding to the report of a fight after police received multiple 9-1-1 calls. One of those calls came from Xenia Councilman Edgar Wallace, who reported there was a group of girls trying to attack his granddaughter, Tova Wallace-Lee, in his backyard.

Wallace-Lee, 21, was arrested at the scene and has been charged with murder in Tarver’s death. She is being held in the Greene County Jail on a $200,000 bond. Because the charge is a felony, the case is being transferred from Xenia Municipal Court to Greene County Common Pleas Court.
