High-speed chase ends in Botkins, local schools in area on lockdown

UPDATE @ 12:02 p.m.:

Botkins and Anna local schools are on lockdown following a high-speed chase that ended in Botkins in the area of Warren and Mary streets, according to initial reports.

There are reports that multiple people may be in custody and they are searching the area for another person possibly involved.

State troopers said the chase is believed to be involved in an earlier robbery at the Jared the Galleria of Jewelry in Beavercreek.

INITIAL REPORT

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently involved in a pursuit on County Road 25A North in Botkins with speeds reaching over 115 m.p.h.

The suspects in the pursuit are believed to be involved in an earlier jewelry store theft.  Botkins Local Schools are currently on lockdown due to the pursuit.
