NOW OPEN: New, large-scale international market and restaurant in Riverside

A new and large-scale international supermarket and restaurant that has an ownership connection with the El Rancho Grande Mexican restaurant chain opened on Thursday Nov. 1, in Riverside.

  

La Guadalupana Super Market, located at 5450 Burkhardt Road at Spinning Road in the Spin-Kemp Shopping Center, will be open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., according to Gary Rodriguez, president of operations for El Rancho Grande.

The 20,000-square-foot grocery store and restaurant employs 37, Rodriguez  told this news outlet this morning. The market has butchers who will cut meat to order and offers a truly international selection of Mexican, Central American and Asian items, he said.

The store’s restaurant has an alcohol license and serves beer and wine, Rodriguez said.

The project has been in the works for nearly two years. It first applied for a license to serve alcohol in January 2017.

The space previously housed a Salvation Army Thrift store. The Spin-Kemp Shopping Center includes Oddbody’s Music Room, Family Dollar and a handful of smaller businesses.

El Rancho Grande operates seven Dayton-area restaurants and is affiliated with the new Rancheros Cocina Mexicana that opened last month in the Cross Pointe Centre in Centerville.
