New arcade-gaming Bar 145 sets opening date for Austin Landing

Bar 145/Reset bar in the Austin Landing development in Miami Twp. is scheduled to open fully to the public on Tuesday, Nov. 22, founder and owner Jeremy Fitzgerald said Friday, Nov. 18.

The 6,100-square-foot bar at 10259 Penny Lane will include a large outdoor patio and will specialize in burgers, bourbon, beer and live music. It will open with about 60 employees. Bar 145 will have a limited “soft opening” of sorts this weekend; it will be open to the public Friday and Saturday nights starting at 10 p.m. for live music, entertainment and a limited bar menu, Fitzgerald said.

After Tuesday, Bar 145 will be open every day from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., offering a $7.99 “pick two” lunch special daily, Fitzgerald said.

The "Reset" portion of Bar 145 is a bar/arcade within a bar, and will feature 20 free-to-play classic arcade games from the 1980s such as Centipede, Donkey Kong, Gorf, Galaga, and Star Wars, along with '90s favorites Mortal Kombat and NBA Jam, as well as several pinball machines at 50 cents per play. Patrons will be able to move back and forth between the two bars, Bar 145 founder Jeremy Fitzgerald told this news outlet in September.

This is the ninth Bar 145, and the third Reset location, for the Toledo-based chain.

Bar 145’s neighbor, Bar Louie, opened earlier this summer in a similar-sized space. A large 12-screen cinema multi-plex is under construction adjacent to Bar 145.

The addition of Bar Louie and Bar 145 will enhance the night-life aspect of the mixed-use retail development off I-75 in Miami Twp., officials with R.G. Properties, Austin Landing’s developer, have said.

Bar 145 joins two other bars that are under development across the region that will embrace the arcade-game trend, and Hole in the Wall in Dayton's Oregon District has been offering free arcade games for nearly three years. Canal Street Arcade & Deli is in the works in the former Canal Street music space in downtown Dayton, and "D20: A Bar with Characters" is under development in the Oak Creek Plaza in Kettering.
