Officials investigate after woman found dead inside vacant house

Dayton police are investigating the death of a woman found inside a vacant home on Victor Avenue Tuesday morning.

According to a police report, crews responded to the residence just after 7 a.m. on reports of a person unresponsive. Once on scene, two women stated that they found a woman inside of the home, slumped over the stairs with flies swarming around her.

In a nearly 2-minute phone call to 911, the caller stated the woman was “totally blue in the face”.

Medics pronounced the woman dead at the scene, the report stated. The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office, as well as homicide detectives were called to the scene as a result.

The coroner’s office have not yet ruled on the manner or cause of the woman’s death.

The identity of the woman has not been released as the incident remains under investigation.
