Warming trend underway; rain returns mid-week


Clouds will break as we head into the evening hours, at least briefly, Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Eric Elwell said. Temperatures will hold in the 30s.

Tonight: Clouds will increase again late with nearly steady temperatures in the middle 30s.

Wednesday: Clouds will thicken through the day with showers developing late in the afternoon. Temperatures will climb into the lower 50s.

Thursday: Showers will be likely, especially by late in the day and into the evening. Some heavy rain is possible along with a rumble of thunder. It will be unseasonably warm with high temperatures around 60 degrees. It will be breezy at times.

Friday: Showers in the morning will mix with or change to snow before ending. Little to no snow accumulation is expected. It will be breezy. Temperatures will start the day in the lower 40s but fall into the 30s.

Saturday: Expect clouds to break with cool temperatures holding in the upper 30s with blustery conditions.

Sunday: Skies will be mostly sunny through much of the day with clouds increasing late in the afternoon. There will be the chance for rain Sunday night. Highs top out near 40 degrees.
