Police search ends at Hull Plaza in Springfield

Police have concluded their search at Hull Plaza and have not been able to locate a gunman who reportedly grabbed a woman and ran inside the building, according to investigators.

Units from the Columbus Police Bomb Squad have been requested to the investigation at the Hull Plaza in Springfield, according to officials.

The building has been evacuated for the investigation, officials said.

FIRST REPORT

Springfield police are searching the Hull Plaza building floor-by-floor after a woman told police a man grabbed her, showed a gun and ran into the building, according to investigator.

Officers responded to the building shortly before 9 a.m.

According to police, a woman going to work at the Mobile Dog restaurant was on her way to work when the man grabbed her and showed the weapon.

The woman ran out of the building and said the man went into the building, police said.

Officers on the scene also found a napkin with the word “bomb” written on it, so police are now searching the building.

It’s unclear if the man is still inside the building.
