REPORT: Male with handgun runs from police after Taser strikes him in the face

UPDATE @ 10:06 a.m.: Jeremire J. Perrey has been cleared of his obstructing official business charge, according to Miami Valley Jail records. He is also awaiting court action and a parole hearing for having a weapon while under disability and parole violation charges.

INITIAL STORY:

A Dayton male dumped off a loaded handgun while fleeing from police with a Taser prong stuck in his face before he was chased down Monday morning, according to a Dayton police report.

Jeremire J. Perrey, 22, was arrested and processed for carrying a concealed weapon and obstructing official business, according to Miami Valley Jail records. He was also processed for possession of a deadly weapon, but his disposition has been released by the arresting officer, according to jail records.

Police were dispatched to the 3400 block of Arlene Avenue at 8:18 a.m. Monday on a drug compliant. Upon arrival, Perrey, and several other subjects, left the vehicle they were sitting in/standing by, and fled the scene on foot. One officer pursued Perrey on foot and fired his Taser at him, striking him in the face, according to the report.

The Taser did not have the desired affect, the report read, and Perrey continued running down Arlene Avenue, reaching for his pocket with a prong in the left side of his face, police said.

He would elude the officer, but with a citizen’s assistance, the officer would spot and capture Perrey.

Proceeding the arrest, police acquired a loaded black handgun from a resident living on Arlene Avenue who stated she found the firearm on her front porch, according to the report.

Perrey was transported to Grandview Hospital and then processed at Montgomery County Jail. Police did not apprehend the other suspects that were on scene, according to the report.
