5 Things to Know About Springboro Crossroads Redevelopment

The redevelopment planned at Springboro’s central crossroads is in part an effort to return the northwest corner of Main Street and Central Avenue to its place at the center of this growing community.

Did you know?

1. A gas station once sat on the southeast corner of Central and Main, the only corner not cleared of a gas station-convenience store in anticipation of the $10 million reconstruction of the intersection.

2. The Warren County Engineer's Office is managing the intersection project, paid for mainly by the City of Springboro.

3. For decades, Homer Preston and his family ran the IGA anchoring the shopping center razed to make way for the proposed redevelopment.

4. The former site of one of Springboro's oldest schools, named for founder Jonathan Wright, is within walking distance of the redevelopment site. No word yet on whether it will figure in the redevelopment of the crossroads area.
