Trustees approve zoning for senior facility at Rollandia Golf property

A senior assisted living and memory care facility in Sugarcreek Twp. received zoning approval as township trustees voted unanimously for the development.

The hearing for the facility, which would house 123 independent, 57 assisted living and 20 memory care units, was initially scheduled to take place at an Aug. 7 trustee meeting.

The trustees had to reschedule because a trustee member had fallen ill.

The land of the golf course at Rollandia is approximately 50 acres and 10 of those acres would be used for the senior care center. The remaining acreage would be designated for single-family detached homes targeted to empty-nesters and a multi-family rental community targeted to both empty-nesters and young professionals.

Ian Guttman, of Guttman Development Group, now must get a final development plan approved by township trustees.
