Multiple crashes on area highways causing severe backups

Power lines fall on woman’s car in crash, rescue made


A woman was trapped in a vehicle with power lines on it after a two-vehicle crash at East and Kenton streets in Springfield.

The crash was reported around 2:30 p.m. 

A utility pole was snapped in the crash and police blocked the roads in the area. 

Ohio Edison turned off the power and removed the power line from the vehicle.

The woman who was trapped was transported to the hospital to be checked out.

There were no other injuries.
