The money from the IDEA-B funds are used to provide special education services for students with identified disabilities.
Title I fund are used to provide reading and early literacy help to qualified students and Title II funds are used helping with professional development.
All school districts in Ohio are required to provide free educational services to all students in their district from ages 3 through 21 who have been determined to have a disability.
Disabilities include hearing impairments, visual impairments, speech or language impairments, specific learning disabilities, emotional disturbance, multiple disabilities, cognitive disabilities, physical impairments, other health impairments, autism and traumatic brain injury.
The schools are also required to evaluate each student to determine if the student has any type of disability.
