A Brain Health Series: We kick off a new Memory Cafe program series on Feb.y 2 at 2 p.m. with "Stay Sharp," a panel discussion of how to ward off brain diseases. The first Friday of each month will feature a new topic, either educational or entertaining, geared toward helping older adults build good brain health habits. For details, go online to www.wclibrary.info.
A Smarter Library Collection: The entire collection at Centerville Library is in the process of being tagged with RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology. This technology will enable staff and patrons to check out stacks of items all at once (versus one by one), expediting the process. The technology will also make it possible for shelves to be scanned for missing or misplaced items. Patrons can also look forward to new, user-friendly self-checkout machines.
A Renovated Woodbourne Library: The Woodbourne Library will reopen in late summer/early fall and boast 10,000 additional square feet of space and a completely renovated interior. Better parking, more public meeting space, original works of art and a creativity space are just some of the new features to which patrons can look forward.
