WATCH: Vehicle fails to stop for Dayton ambulance, slams into it

A vehicle slammed into a Dayton life squad this afternoon while it had its lights and siren activated.

The crash happened around 4 p.m. at the intersection of Kings Highway and North Gettysburg Avenue.

A witness who called the newsroom said the ambulance just came out of the fire station at 4111 Kings Highway and was struck as it turned left to go south on North Gettysburg Avenue. George Billingsley shared his video that caught the crash at his business, Big Auto Sales.

His video shows that before the crash, two cars headed south also did not bear right and stop for the ambulance. Almost immediately after the crash, witnesses in cars headed north on North Gettysburg Avenue drove past the wreck before police responded.

The crash was reported as an injury crash, but it’s not clear whether anyone had to go to a hospital.

We have reached out to Dayton police to learn more information about the incident.
