Woman critically hurt in 2016 Huber Heights pursuit, crash dies

A woman critically hurt in a Huber Heights pursuit in March 2016 that killed the man she was riding with has died, the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office said.

Loretta Creech, 56, died Thursday at Hospice of Dayton.

Creech and Mark Harper were hit by a vehicle driven by Kyndra Shackelford, who was fleeing from Huber Heights police.

Shackelford is serving a mandatory sentence of 15 years in prison following her conviction in late 2016 on aggravated vehicular homicide, aggravated vehicular assault, failure to comply and theft in connection to the fatal crash and pursuit, according to records.

The crash happened at the intersection of Needmore and Wagner Ford roads.

Harper died at the crash scene.

The coroner’s office did not yet have an official cause or manner of Creech’s death, an official said.
