Wright-Patt Exchange store unveils $6.4 million upgrade

A store on Wright-Patterson Air Force Base has a new look after more than $6.4 million in upgrades.

Right after the ribbon-cutting this morning, shoppers were able to explore a new athletic apparel section and other features at the base Exchange store.

The store serves hundreds of thousands of veterans and military members in the area and the overdue upgrades ensure that they have everything they need on the base.

“Upgrades actually haven’t taken place in 40 years,” said Jermaine Wilson, Wright Patterson Exchange general manger. “This is the first upgrade. We are so excited for the community here.”

Upgrades included a new BE FIT center, updated floors and a new TV wall with interactive displays.

The store profits benefit programs that help veterans.
