“My dad would do anything for anybody,” his daughter said. “He was just that type of person. His heart was huge.”
Mitchell said she was her father’s only biological child, but he had two other “very special people” in his life, Gavin Heatherly and Christina Nuncio. Mitchell married Heatherly’s mother and dated Nuncio’s mother.
“He treated all of us the same,” Angie Mitchell said. “We are all three his children.”
After the Skyline Chili closed, Mitchell, a U.S. Navy veteran, worked at Chesterwood Village as a dietary manager and in the kitchen for 14 years.
“He taught me a lot of great values,” said his daughter, who added that she will miss hearing her father’s voice
“My dad was my No. 1 supporter,” she said. “I’m thankful for the memories we made.”
Other survivors include: brother Peter Mitchell; sister Nickolett Mitchell; grandchildren Jaycee Taylor, Chad Mitchell James Taylor, Arianna Grace, Christian James Grace, Catherine Heatherly and Gavin Moses Heatherly Jr.
Mitchell was also a member of the Holy Trinity St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Cincinnati.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, at the Ivey Funeral Home, 2565 Princeton Road, Hamilton.
Another visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday, July 18, at the Holy Trinity St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 7000 Winton Road in Cincinnati. A funeral mass will follow at noon. Burial will follow in Arlington Memorial Gardens in Cincinnati.
