The boy’s demeanor on the video was described as “belligerent” in the police report.
Police went to the boy’s home on Brentwood Street at 12:44 a.m. Tuesday and the boy admitted he made a video, the report said. He was arrested and transported to the Butler County Juvenile Detention Center.
The teen appeared Tuesday morning for his detention hearing and no plea was taken, officials said. The magistrate ordered an investigation, a threat assessment and the boy was ordered to return to the center.
His pre-trial hearing is set for next month.
After someone saw the alleged video, they contacted their parents who called Middletown police, said Elizabeth Beadle, district spokeswoman. She said classes were held Tuesday without incident.
Beadle said the student who notified their parents reacted just as they’re taught: “See something, say something.”
