Montgomery County gets new budget director

The Montgomery County Board of County Commissioners has appointed John Parks as the new Director of the Office of Management and Budget.

Parks succeeds Timothy Nolan who is retiring after serving 30 years with the county.

Parks will start as OMB director on July 2.

OMB is responsible for coordinating the annual budget process, the state fiscal year budget process and appropriating capital projects in compliance with the Ohio Revised Code for all commission appropriated funds.

For the past five years, Parks served as the chief financial officer of the Montgomery County Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board. Parks also served as a planning manager with OMB, a financial services manager with the county water department and a fiscal officer with Montgomery County Juvenile Court.

Nolan began his career with Montgomery County OMB in 1988. He has served as OMB Director since 2009. Nolan’s last day as OMB Director will be June 29.
