Most of Keowee Bridge now gone

Most of the Keowee Street Bridge over the Great Miami River has been taken down. Three of the five spans have been demolished and their debris is being hauled away. Contractors from Eagle Construction have been working since the bridge closed in December, but have been stymied by harsh winter weather and the relocation of gas and water lines that were also part of the bridge. A construction bridge has been installed parallel to the old bridge. The new bridge is expected to be completed in September 2019 according to Montgomery County Engineer Paul Gruner.
