Ohio governor candidates to square off tonight in final debate: How to watch

The third Ohio governor’s debate is set for 7 p.m. Monday at Cleveland State University.

The debate marks the final time gubernatorial candidates Republican Mike DeWine and Democrat Richard Cordray will square off before the Nov. 6 election. DeWine is the current Ohio Attorney General while Cordray recently stepped down from his post as the director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

The last debate will be hosted by the Ohio Debate Commission, a group of more than 40 civic and media organizations including Cox Media Group Ohio’s Dayton Daily News, Springfield News-Sun, (Butler County) Journal News, WHIO-TV and WHIO Radio.

The debate will be streamed live on our newspaper's website and on our Ohio Politics Facebook page.

The first Ohio gubernatorial debate took place in September at the University of Dayton and Cox Media Group Ohio was the event’s presenting media partner. Cordray and DeWine face of a second time Oct. 1 at Marietta College.

Also on the November ballot are Libertarian Travis Irvine and Green Party candidate Constance Gadell-Newton.

Recent polls show a deadheat. One survey of likely voters conducted by Ipsos has DeWine with a 1-point lead over Cordray while an NBC News/Marist poll found the race tied at 44-percent each.
