Movie theaters in Britain refuse 'Just Pray' advertisement in case it's 'offensive'

British movie theaters are refusing to air an ad titled “Just Pray” this holiday season, out of fears it might offend someone.

"Digital Cinema Media agency, which handles British film advertising for the major cinema chains, Odeon, Cineworld and Vue, refused to show the ad because it believed it would risk upsetting or offending audiences," the BBC reported.

The ad, depicting a number of people of different ages, races and vocations as "The Lord’s Prayer" is recited, was meant to run ahead of blockbuster films such as the new “Star Wars” installment this holiday season.

“We find that really astonishing, disappointing and rather bewildering,” the Rev. Arun Arora, director of communications for the Church of England, said of the ban.
