The Birmingham Ala.-based chain, which has more than 82 locations in 16 states, is known for its healthy meal options, including grilled salmon, tomato basil sandwich, fresh-grilled Mediterranean gyros, fresh prepared meats and various seafood, vegetarian and gluten-free options.

The restaurant starts with fresh ingredients and makes everything from scratch, including dressings, sauces and other items, according to local owner/operating partner Matthew Warren.

Taziki’s first Ohio location at 9640 Mason-Montgomery Road in Deerfield Twp. will celebrate its first anniversary on March 28 by giving away free meals and a catering package.

“Now with two locations in Ohio more people can enjoy fresh, healthy, diverse and affordable food options,” Warren said. “We believe great food brings people together, and we want our restaurant guests to feel like dinner guests in our home. We want our guests to relish extraordinary meals that are as colorful as the Mediterranean.”

The new Taziki’s includes aspects of the new ‘Mediterranean-Coastal’ design gracing the interior of Taziki’s newest restaurants. That includes shades of bright white and deep ocean blue for interior accent pieces, hanging wicker lanterns, plenty of natural lighting and exposed wooden ceiling beams for the experience of dining outdoors.

A community board in the back of the restaurant lists local non-profit events with information about how to participate.

Chester’s Chicken

Deg’s Flame Grilled Chicken recently renovated its Liberty Center location to introduce a second dining option.

Chester’s Chicken is a quick-service, fried-chicken franchise known for crispy double breaded chicken, especially tenders, according to Deg’s owner Naveed Haq.

“It gives an option to people who prefer fried rather than grilled,” Haq told this news outlet.

Chester’s also is MSG-free, breaded on site and served fresh, he said. Its menu offers includes breakfast biscuits, wraps, salads, sandwiches, livers & gizzards and a wide array of side dishes and desserts.

Founded in 1952, Chester’s primarily consists of restaurant-in-store concepts, including colleges and universities, airports, convenience stores, truck stops and supermarkets.

The new option debuted March 15 inside of Deg’s, which is located next to the Food Court inside The Foundry, Liberty Center’s indoor mall.

Deg's Flame Grilled Chicken offers fresh chicken in varying cuts and portion sizes, as well as chicken burgers and chicken wraps. Customers can choose the chicken to be served or basted with organic sauces such as Classic Wing, BBQ Wing, ketchup, lemon & herb, garlic sauce and a sauce derived from the South African peri-peri pepper.

It opened a second location in May 2017 at The Greene Town Center in Beavercreek.
