Jason's Deli, which operates a restaurant in Cincinnati and three in Columbus, is gearing up to open its first Dayton-area restaurant in Beavercreek.
The Texas-based sandwich chain will be Giordano's Pizza’s neighbor at the site of a former Logan’s Roadhouse restaurant near the Mall at Fairfield Commons and Wright State University.

Jay Tortorice, spokesman for the Jason’s Deli franchise group that will operate the Beavercreek location, told this news outlet that he expects the restaurant to open “late in the first quarter” of 2019, about the same time as Chicago-based deep-dish pizza specialist Giordano’s will open its first Dayton-area restaurant in the other half of the building.
Tortorice said the location across from Wright State University and the Mall at Fairfield Commons was appealing.
“We think its a great combination of daytime employment, retail draw and surrounding residential,” he said.
Overall, Jason’s Deli operates 260 restaurants in 29 states. The Beavercreek restaurant will be the local franchisee’s 20th location, Tortorice said.

The new Dayton-area restaurant will occupy 4,800 square feet, seat 140 and will employ about 50, Tortorice said.
Jason’s Deli’s officials say their menu offers “healthy to indulgent meal choices for all tastes and appetites,” including specialty sandwiches, salads, wraps, paninis, muffalettas, pasta and potato dishes and 12 original-recipe soups. A vegetarian menu and a gluten-sensitive menu also are offered.
The chain was one of the first restaurant companies in the country to eliminate partially hydrogenated oils — the source of artificial trans-fats — in 2005, years before federal guidelines mandated it. “Since then, processed MSG, high-fructose corn syrup and artificial colors/flavors/dyes have been eliminated,” the company said in a release.
The restaurants also offer online ordering, catering and delivery.
