Not your ‘typical aircraft hangar’: See this local company’s new $5M airport building

A local real estate investment firm’s new hangar at Dayton-Wright Brothers Airport is an eye-catcher.

Or, as one Dayton aviation official has put it, the building is not a “typical aircraft hangar.”

The Connor Group’s new building – styled in the same exterior design as its $18 million headquarters nearby – includes more than 17,000 square feet of hangar, business and storage space, according to Montgomery County records.

Township records show the cost at $5 million, although the company said Thursday it does not plan to release details about the amount of its investment. By comparison, a new hangar built nearby by the city of Dayton is estimated to cost $1 million.

The new facility for Connor Group, which is based in Miami Twp., has 13 rooms, including the 14,597-square-foot hangar, county records show.

The company said last year that the hangar will house about four planes and be used solely for its corporate jets.
