Police want ‘death-related’ charges for West Carrollton group home homicide suspects

Police said they plan to seek “death-related” charges on suspects in the homicide of a disabled West Carrollton group home resident.

Potential charges in the March 5 death of Jerrold Duskey are expected be presented to a panel of three prosecutors within the next week and could involve a “wide range” of counts, from involuntary manslaughter to murder, said West Carrollton Deputy Police Chief David Wessling.

Duskey, 65, died from complications of multiple blunt force injuries to his head, torso and left upper extremity, the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office said Monday.

Wessling said the investigation stems from a mid-February response to ResCare Red Bluff, where Duskey, who was developmentally disabled, lived.

A residential manager at the group home on Redbluff Drive reported to police possible physical abuse involving one of its residents on Feb. 14.

Two caregivers who were working at the time the incident occurred were removed from employment “immediately,” according to a company spokeswoman.
