“We didn’t want a dispensary coming in and beginning to operate without us adopting our rules and regulations,” Rapier told the Journal-News. “That was the whole point.”
FIRST REPORT: Seven Mile temporarily bans new state-approved pot dispensary
In place now are regulations for hours of operation and procedures, such as requiring businesses to apply for a license, but the ban remains on marijuana processing and cultivation operations.
The state approved two provisional medical marijuana dispensary licenses for Butler County in June, one in Seven Mile and the other in Monroe.
Seven Mile Mayor Vivian Gorsuch previously told the Journal-News that the new business would be good for the village, which is home to 780 residents.
