Shelter re-opens for Jefferson Twp. residents without power

For those people in the 2,400 homes that are still without power after the windstorms, the Red Cross has reopened its emergency shelter at Blairwood Elementary School, 1241 Blairwood Ave., until 7 p.m. Thursday.

Anyone impacted by the storms is free to stop by to escape from the heat and rain. There is water, ice, snacks, air conditioning and plugs to charge your phones, according to a release.

An emergency shelter has been opened in Jefferson Twp. for those without power.

The storms Tuesday night knocked out power for thousands of residents across Montgomery, Preble and other counties.

An emergency shelter for residents in Jefferson Twp. is now open at Blairwood Elementary School, 1241 Blairwood Drive, Dayton. The shelter was expected to open at 1 p.m. and will remain open until the power is restored in the area.
