Fire in empty car briefly shuts down westbound Ohio 129


A fire in an empty car parked along westbound Ohio 129 in Liberty Twp. briefly shut down the westbound lanes Thursday afternoon.

A Butler County dispatcher said the fire was reported around 2:35 p.m.

“It was westbound,” just west of Cincinnati-Dayton Road, the dispatcher said. “It was a car fully engulfed. … No one was in it at all, that we’re aware of.”

The fire was extinguished and the car was being towed at around 3:15 p.m.
