Van possibly tied to Lachey’s bar shooting stopped in Butler County


Butler County Sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle this morning matching the description of a van suspected to be involved in the shooting of a Cincinnati bartender.

Early Thanksgiving morning, Elizabeth Richardson, an employee of a sports bar owned by Nick and Drew Lachey, was shot in the face while leaving work.

On Nov. 23, the shooter yelled at Richardson, 27, from the window of a van while she walked across the street, Cincinnati Police Sgt. Steve Saunders said.

When she approached the vehicle, she was shot, according to our news partner WCPO.

Police released a photo of the black van and requested the public’s help finding the shooter.

Today, a Butler County resident called sheriff’s dispatchers after seeing a van possibly matching the description at about 11 a.m. at the intersection of Ohio 4 and Ohio 747.

Deputies found the van a short time later on Cranbrook Drive in the Rochester Hills mobile home park located off of Ohio 4.

However, it was not the vehicle connected to the Cincinnati shooting, according to Butler County Sheriff’s Maj. Mike Craft.
