VIDEO: You’ve got to see the progress made at new Montgomery County Fairgrounds

From the air, it doesn’t look like construction work on the new Montgomery County Fairgrounds has slowed through the winter months.

Two new buildings, the Main Event Center and Exhibit Hall 2, are now under roof and being completed from the inside.

“They’re waiting for a break in the weather to get the walls on the Main Event Center,” said Greg Wallace, Executive Director/Project Manager for the Montgomery County Fair.

Other crews continue to grade for a parking area and construct a drainage system.

Arthur O. Fisher Park in front of the new fairgrounds is partially open. Access to the far west parking lot near the lake has been closed to allow for construction traffic and heavy equipment movement.

After 165 years of holding the fair at the South Main Steet location, the 2018 Montgomery County Fair is scheduled for July 9 through July 15, 2018 at its new home next to Arthur O. Fisher Park in Jefferson Township.
