7 things you should know about Fraze Pavilion

1. The name. Named after inventor Ermal Fraze, who created the pull-tab can opener.

2. The location. Fraze Pavilion is part of Kettering's Lincoln Park between Shroyer Boulevard and Ackerman Boulevard.

3. The opening. The amphitheater held its grand opening Sept. 14, 1991 with a sold-out performance by composer and pianist Marvin Hamlisch.

4. The cost. Fraze Pavilion cost $2.7 million to build.

5. The seating. Four types of seating are available for guests: Plaza, Orchestra, Lawn and Terrace.

6. The funding. Funding for the pavilion was raised through private and corporate contributions.

7. The performers. Hundreds of artists local, national and international, have performed at the Fraze. They include,  as a sampling:
