In past years, several parks have seen major work such as professional tree and shrub trimming and removal, painting and planting.
The 2018 Earth Day event will focus on the Middletown City Building area and downtown streets as well as general clean up in several parks. Arbor Day will be celebrated with a tree planting at this time.
KMB officials said gloves and garbage bags will be given to volunteers. In addition, dump trucks and dumpsters will be in strategic locations and volunteers can put bags in the trucks. Lunch will be provided for volunteers with a KMB T-shirt after the community clean-up at noon at the city building.
Volunteers may pre-register online by April 2 at www.keepmiddletownbeautiful.org or in person the day of the event at the city building. Children 14 and under must be accompanied with parent or guardian.
Groups may organize before the day of the event to clean up anywhere throughout the greater Middletown area. Contact executive director Jeff Michel at 513-425-7750 or email jeffmi@cityofmiddletown.org by April 2.
