Two Winans chocolate shops to be sold

New franchise owners will continue to operate the stores under Winans Chocolates + Coffees

Two Dayton-area Winans Chocolates + Coffees shops will soon get new franchise ownership, the current franchisee told this new outlet.

Ben Czajka, the franchisee who oversees six Dayton-area stores for the Piqua-based Winans, said he is selling two of his Winans shops: one at 5839 Far Hills Ave. (Ohio 48) in Washington Twp. and one at The Greene Town Center in Beavercreek. The shops’ new franchisees will continue to operate the two stores as Winans.

“My goal was to develop the Dayton market, and now that I feel we have a pretty good footprint, I am selling (two) locations,” Czajka said.

“The Far Hills location was sold to Chandi Shah and Travis Van Voorhis. They own the Springfield Winans location, and this is their second location. They love the Winans brand, and are excited about having their second location.”

Czajka said he is selling the location at The Greene to Whitney Wedding, who has extensive experience as a coffee-shop manager with Starbucks, the former Caribou Coffee and Peet’s Coffee. “She is very excited about owning her own shop, and will do a great job as part of the Winans family,” Czajka said.

Czajka will continue to own and operate four other Winans stores: on Miller Lane in the Butler Twp./Vandalia area, which Czajka has overseen for nearly 13 years; on Pentagon Boulevard near the Mall at Fairfield Commons in Beavercreek; on Feedwire Road across from the Cornerstone of Centerville development; and in Maineville in Warren County. The Miller Lane store and the Feedwire Road shop will soon have liquor licenses, the franchisee said.
