Bengals activate running back from injury list

The Cincinnati Bengals on Monday announced running back Cedric Peerman has passed his physical and is expected to practice this afternoon.

Peerman had been on the Non-Football Injury list since the start of training camp with a hamstring injury.

A 2015 Pro Bowl selection for his play on special teams, Peerman is entering his eighth season and could find himself battling for a roster spot with the emergence of Tra Carson, an undrafted player from Texas A&M who spent 2016 on the Bengals practice squad.

Carson was impressive in Friday night’s 23-13 win against Tampa Bay, carrying eight times for 32 yards in addition to turning a screen pass into a 23-yard gain for the team’s longest reception of the game.

Activating Peerman means there is only one Bengals player yet to practice — rookie sixth-round pick Brandon Wilson, who has been battling a knee injury since OTAs.
