College Soccer: Dayton women picked to win Atlantic 10

The University of Dayton women’s soccer team has been picked as the team to beat in the Atlantic 10 preseason poll for the ninth straight season.

The Flyers totaled 179 points and nine first-place votes among the 14 conference coaches.

UD’s Alexis Kiehl, a senior forward, was named to the A-10 preseason team for the third straight year. Junior defender Nadia Pestell also was named to the all-conference preseason team.

Saint Louis was picked to finish second, while Saint Joseph’s was selected to finish third.

The Flyers and first-year coach Eric Golz return nine starters in 2017 and are seeking their second straight A-10 title and 11th overall.

Dayton opens the regular season Friday at East Carolina.
