Benjamin lost 7-6 (5), 1-6, 3-6 to Tulane senior Constantin Schmitz, the 15th-ranked player in the nation. Benjamin finished the season 20-2 in singles play.
Benjamin became the first Dayton tennis player to compete in the NCAA tournament.
