Dayton Boat Club wins bronze at USRowing Youth National Championships

The Dayton Boat Club’s Women’s Youth Four won bronze Sunday at the USRowing Youth National Championships.

Dayton finished with a time of 7:34.298 on the 2000-meter Lake Natoma course in Gold River, Calif. Connecticut Boat Club (7:29.275) and RowAmerica Rye NY (7:32.650) were the top two boats.

Rowers of Dayton’s third-place boat were Rachel McNutt (junior, Beavercreek High School), Agatha Shafer (junior, Oakwood High School), Paige Reymann (freshman, Oakwood High School), Grace Blust (junior, Chaminade Julienne High School). The boat was coxswained by Ella Mitchell (junior, Fairmont High School).

Dayton Boat Club sent two additional qualifying boats to nationals, a Women’s Lightweight Four which finished in the B Finals and a women’s single (Hannah Braum, junior Centerville) who finished 13th overall by winning the C Final.

The Greater Dayton Rowing Association also had two qualifying crews – a Women’s Quad which finished 18th overall and a Men’s Lightweight Double.
