Dayton Flyers interviews: Grant, Landers, Toppin look back at Battle 4 Atlantis, talk about Mississippi State game

Flyers are 4-2 with two home games coming up

Dayton Flyers coach Anthony Grant, junior guard Trey Landers and redshirt freshman forward Obi Toppin met with the media on Tuesday at UD Arena before the team gathered for the official 2018-19 team photo.

Here are some highlights from the interviews as well as the complete video interviews. The Flyers (4-2) talked about their trip to the Bahamas for the Battle 4 Atlantis and their game at 7 p.m. Friday against No. 25 Mississippi State at UD Arena.

• Grant on the next game: "We haven't really started our prep for Mississippi State yet, but obviously we know they have a lot of returning from last year. They're a very talented team."

• Toppin on facing No. 4 Virginia in the Battle 4 Atlantis semifinals: "Virginia was a really good team. We just played really hard against them. I felt our team fought and did everything we could to try and win."

• Landers on what he learned about the team from the three games in the Bahamas: "I didn't learn anything. I already knew what we were capable of doing. We're going to compete with whoever our opponent is. We showed that to the world."
